And the project continues

It's been a while. Now that we have a computer, I hope to get this update more and can hopefully figure out how to do a collage so that I won't have a long list of pictures. So lets begin!

September 27
This is the Maumee River. It is one of the bigger rivers in NW Ohio. Because it's been pretty dry this summer, you can walk "in" the river. The shorelines are pretty dry and you can walk on the rocks that would nromally be under water.
September 26
We went to Cedar Point, Americas Rollercoast (www.cedarpoint.com) today. This is the Max Air at night. This is only a few years old. You sit in a circle that rotates as it swings. It's pretty neat to watch. I however did not ride it.

September 25
A glorious sunrise on my way to work.

September 24
I went to dinner with 2 of my friends at the International Docks-The Flaming Pit Barbeque and Blues. We sat on the patio where you have a nice view of downtown Toledo.

September 23Yup, I won $40 on this bingo. I had to share my winnings with someone else becaused they bingoed. I would have more $ had I bingoed earlier. I didn't because one of the numbers wasn't lit up on the board and I thought I daubbed it by mistake. Oh well.

September 22
The first day of fall. The trees outside of my office building are changing colors. I can't wait to see my parents yard during the peak colors.

September 21
I go over this bridge every day to work and sometimes back home. The Veterans Glass City Skyway is only a few years old. Read more about it at http://www.veteransglasscityskyway.org/

September 20
While at my SIL's cottage on Sand Lake, we took one last boat trip before taking it out of the water for the season. There is a canal that takes you out to the highway. The water was so calm. We saw a few turtles, turkey buzzards and water lilies.

September 19
On our visit to my sister in law's cottage on Sand Lake, we ate at a restaurant called the Beach House on Clark Lake, MI. It was a great restaurant. As we were waiting to be seated, the sun was sitting on the lake.

September 18
This concludes my week of fun things to do in Toledo. This is the Willis B. Boyer ship (http://www.internationalpark.com/boyermain.html) It is open to the public for tours. I've heard that it is haunted. During Halloween, it is open as a haunted house.
September 17
Day 4 is the Toledo Farmers Market is at the Erie Street Market. It is open to the public on the weekends during the summer. I visited it during the week, which is why there isn't anyone there.

September 16

Day 3 comes from the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion (www.toledomuseum.org). The exterior walls are made of gass. This is where all the glass work takes place and where all the glass pieces are housed. It's pretty neat to take a look around, plus it's free to the public.

September 15
Day 2 is a wonderful time at the International Docks just across the river from Downtown Toledo. There are a few restaurants that you can sit at along the patio and enjoy a great meal along with a beautiful sunset (if it's not cloudy). They have Navy Bistro, Zia's Italian, Real Seafood Company, Tango Mexican Cantina and Flaming Pit Barbeque and Blues. Inside Navy Bistro, is Eileens Wine Bar, Courtyard at The Bistro, and Flying Rhino Coffee and Chocolate Bar. You can also dock you boat and get a bite to eat. This is a hot spot during the summer.

Septemer 14
I decided to take you on a small tour of fun things to do in Toledo. I'm only going to do this during the work week because that's when I'm downtown. Day 1 is Fifth Third Field. It is home to the Toledo Mudhens baseball team (www.toledomudhens.com). This stadium was built so the Mudhens could be close to Toledo rather in Maumee where their old staduim was located. Throughout the summer there are fireworks after each Friday and Saturday games.

Another fantastic segment!

So, here it is. I can't believe it is September already. I started this blog on my b-day almost 2 months ago. How time flies?! I think I'll start to liven up the blogs by having theme weeks now and again. It gets hard to take pictures of random stuff if I'm not doing anything, if you get my drift. So enjoy my pics!
September 13
My Yankee Candle Halloween car air freshener. I'm excited for fall to finally get here. Not too excited at what follows the fall.

September 12
These little flowers grow wild in my flower gardens. Not sure how they got there-they just started popping up. I leave them be and they come back every year.

September 11
There was a dense fog advisor in the morning. This is on my way to work.

September 10

These are my ear plug people on my desk at work. These are the type of ear plugs I wear, minus the faces. :o)

September 9

This the construction of the new Lucas Areana. It will house the Toledo Walleye ECHL hockey team and the Toledo Bullfrogs Areana football team. It replaces the Toledo Sports Area. The TSA was across the river in east Toledo. This one is downtown, a few blocks from the Toledo Hud Hens Stadium 5/3 Field.

September 8

Just a nice picture of the sun taken out of my sunroom. The reflection is on the glass.

September 7

My friend drives a 1966 Pontiac Catalina. We drove this in the Labor Day Parade in downtown Toledo. Her dad's car club has cars they drive in it each year. This makes the 3 or 4th year I've done it with her.

September 6

This is Lucy at her first birthday party. She was excited to get a stoller for her baby doll. She's so cute!
September 5
A lovely sunset at my parents house over Labor Day weekend. We had a small cookout with a bon fire to follow.

September 4

Me with Mudonna. She is the Toledo Mud Hens mascot along with Muddy the Mudhen.

Sorry, it's been a while since my last update. I just keep forgetting to stay a little longer at work to do so. So without futher ado, here is what's been happening since my last post. Not much, just a bunch of randomness. :o)

September 3
I was trying to be all artsy and stuff. This is a new light fixture at the Marina District. The road and lights were just finished a few weeks ago. This area along the Maumee River is supposed to have condos, water front shopping, etc.

September 2
This is one of many beautiful sunrises we've had this week. I blame it on the change in weather from summer to fall. This was taken outside our apartment complex.

September 1
Another gread sunrise. This was taken at Maumee State Park over the golf course. I was a little early for work and since MSP is just a few miles down the road from my job site, I decided to see what I could find.

August 31

This is yet another sunrise on my way to work. The sun was hiding behind a blanket of clouds.

August 30

I had forgotten my camera to take to the in-laws so with the sun setting in the bedroom, I wanted to see how Edward would look. He normally can't come out in the sun (vampires). He was just fine in the glowing sun.

August 29

My dad is starting an annual corn hole tournament. This was the second year of it. It had rained the day and night before so the grass was wet that morning. The sun would come out and them go away. Once the tourney started, the sun came out and everything was fine. I didn't play because I'm not very good. I kept track of the bracket.

August 28
I collect pigs. I saw these salt and pepper shakers in Jamaica and didn't want to pay the price that some of the locals were selling them for. We went horseback riding one day. Ross negotiated the price bought these along with 2 necklaces,

August 27

There is an old school house called Oak Grove School at Wildwood Metro Park. I had heard about it and was never over to see it. I stopped one day after work to see what fabulous picture I could take. This was me being artsy. :o)

August 26

These are one of the most favorite wall decorations in our apartment. Most of the wall art we have are framed pictures that I took. The top left and bottom right pictures I won a silent auction. They are a close up leaves. The top right and bottom left pictures are ones that I took of lilies at Easter time. I thought they tied in well with each other.

August 25

A view of my sunroom on a nice summer day. A must in any car I buy.

August 24
This was a Sakura Restaurant. It is a hibatchi restaurant. The cooks make all your food in front of you. He makes an pyramid of onions and sets them on fire. It's pretty neat. They have fantasic food.
